| 私の知人がネパールの人を知っていて、その人はネパールでパソコンを教えているというので、ネパールに行くこと、パソコンのパーツくらいなら持っていくよ。ついてはそちらの状況が知りたいといってメールを出しました。 | |

| Dear Fujii San, It is my pleasure to receive e-mail from you with interest to visit Nepal. At the same time you are very much interested to help some computer software and computer. I would like to welcome you in our mountainous country , Nepal as well as our secondary school. Yes, there are very few schools in Nepal that they provide computer for the young children and school. I have started computer education for the students IBM XT with 81 Keys last 10 years. Now, very hardly we have 8 computers. Among that we have one Pentium which has upgraded from 486 DX use for official purpose. We have other two computers 386DX and 486 DX with window-95. The other 4 are without hard disk, we teach logo and programming by using floppy disk. Now, according to current curriculum we should provide them, MS Dos, Excial, Window-95 or 98, Q-basic etc. We have only few computers with hard disc which is really difficult. It is pity and difficult situation that we could not provide computer with hard disk. We are still trying to manage it. There are around 425 students in the School among them 300 are using computer in different time but computer really very much less and insufficient. Our power, supply is 220 Volt. It is wonderful idea to help us some computers and hard disk and some software. You and your friends are most welcome to support for IT which very much necessary. We want use some computer for library and for the examination section with multimedia but we are not able to do it yet. This may help to understand the development of the world. I fell it is matter of great proud to meet friend like you with the help of Our great friend Muto Shiro. I welcome you to visit our school and teach us some idea about computer.. In our school there is Japanese language for the children. I hope Japanese version is quite useful for this to read and write also. But I am not sure that how far it is easy or difficult to convert in to English version. Mostly we have English version program. Dear Fujii Motoya San, Please let me know your plan that what is your especial interest so that some how I can help you to make it more interesting. I have one young brother who is involve in trekking and ticketing and has a travelling office. You are most welcome to Nepal ! It is wonderful season in November. ネパール大使館：輸入に際しての問題の有無、及び税率 ヒマラヤ観光：航空便以外に安く運ぶ方法及びパソコン送付の問題点。 通産省：ココム及びノート型パソコン輸出について 問題は、日本語バージョンを英語バージョンに変更が必要ですが、これが大変そう・・・。ネパールから帰れるのかな〜っといささか心配。 |

| Dear Fujii San and Muto San, Thank you very much for your e-mail and deep concern to Nepal especially for the Suryoday Secondary school. I am very happy to answer your some queries. We can convert by using some transformer 220 to 110 it is a bit expensive. May be 50 to 70 US $ for this transformer. We have window 95 in English version and can easily get Window 98 in English. For the computer and computer parts the custom is only 10- 15% custom. If you send us some letters little before that it is support to the school and 2nd hand (Used computer and Parts). I believed it won't be problems. We can talk to the authority. We are using modem in out side till now. Thank you very much for your co-operation. I am planing to visit to Delhi , India to attend Population Summit on 22 to 24 and back to Nepal and going to attend the Information Society for Global Dialog in Ulm, Germany and conference of Expo-2000 in Hannover, Germany and 6th Oct,2000 .
